Some projects just make sense the second you hear about them. A Proud Family Wizmas is one of those creations that feels like an absolute no-brainer.
When you hand microphones to some of the funniest working comedians and musicians alive, let them loose in the booth, and tell them to make holiday magic, good things happen. I saw the first-look images for A Proud Family Wizmas, and my immediate reaction was simple: this is going to be special.
Disney Television Animation is bringing this stop-motion holiday adventure exclusively to Disney+ on Friday, November 14.

The Wizmas Guest Stars Are Pure Comedy Royalty
Take a look at the guest lineup Disney put together for this special:
Anderson .Paak as Mall Elf
Lil Rel Howery as Bubble
Karlous Miller as Benny
- Tone Loc as Penny Loc
- Earthquake as Big Mack
- Luenell as Belinda
- Affion Crockett as Billy
- Gabrielle Union returning as Talia Rogue
That is a powerhouse comedic roster. You have stand-up legends, improv veterans, 85 South energy, hip-hop royalty, and Gabrielle Union sliding back into the mix. It is genuinely stacked.
The Original Proud Family Cast Returns in Claymation Form
The guest roster is wild, but the original core cast makes this world tick. Disney spared zero expense bringing the franchise’s legendary vocal heavyweights back to life in stop-motion clay:
- Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud
- Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud
- Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud
- JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama
- Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby
Add in Soleil Moon Frye (Zoey Howzer), Alisa Reyes (LaCienega Boulevardez), and Carlos Mencia (Felix Boulevardez), and you have the foundation that has kept this show culturally relevant for over two decades.
This cast has experience across generations making content for children. Each one brings something special to the cast. I love it.
What Is A Proud Family Wizmas About?
The premise is pure chaos in the best way. A Proud Family Wizmas is a song-filled, stop-motion holiday special that follows Penny Proud after she accidentally destroys Christmas as we know it.
I need to know the exact sequence of events that leads to Penny taking down the entire holiday.
Once the dust settles, Penny reluctantly agrees to fix what she broke and save Christmas for the children of Emilyville and kids around the world. Between franchise mastermind Bruce W. Smith directing, Ralph Farquhar writing, and six brand-new original tracks composed by Kurt Farquhar, this special has the right creative DNA behind the scenes.
Clear your schedule for November 14. We will definitely be streaming this the second it hits Disney+.
