Ted Lasso Season 4 Trailer: Release Date and New Richmond Challenges

Are you ready to return to AFC Richmond? After months of anticipation, Apple TV+ has officially released the trailer for Ted Lasso Season 4. While the news of a renewal has been circulating for some time, this first look confirms that Ted Lasso is back in action.

The series was famously envisioned as a trilogy, a creative decision Jason Sudeikis has been open about since the show’s inception. Reflecting on the show’s structure during a cover story with EW, Sudeikis noted the intention behind the original run:

“It’s called the iMoney truck,” Sudeikis said with a laugh. “I mean, I don’t know. The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera… But the story that’s being told — that three-season arc — is one that I see, know, and understood. I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”

With the tremendous success of the show, there was no way it was only going to be three seasons—so here we are. On the cusp of Ted Lasso Season 4, a few things have changed.

A New Pitch: Coaching the Women’s Team

The biggest shift this season sees Ted returning to Richmond to tackle his most unique challenge yet. Instead of the Premier League sidelines we’ve grown used to, Ted is taking the helm of a second-division women’s football team.

The official synopsis suggests a season built on “leaping before you look.” It’s a classic Lasso philosophy—taking chances and embracing the unknown—which will likely resonate as the team navigates the pressures of the second division.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Premiere Date

Mark your calendars for late summer. Ted Lasso Season 4 will debut on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The Richmond Family Returns

While the focus shifts to a new squad, the familiar faces that made us fall in love with the show are back. Emmy winners Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Brendan Hunt return alongside Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift.

The trailer also gave us a glimpse of the new ensemble members, including Tanya Reynolds and Faye Marsay, who are set to bring fresh energy to the Richmond facilities.

Which character return are you most excited to see in the new trailer?
